My ePortfolio - A Quest for Lifelong Learning

If you asked me one year ago today if I would have my own website, an active learning blog, and 2/3 of a Master’s degree accomplished, I would have laughed! How would that be possible?!

Well for all those reading, it is indeed possible. Whatever you set your mind to can be accomplished with hard work, perseverance, and faith. As I reflect on my learning and what I have achieved so far in Lamar University’s Masters Program in Educational Technology Leadership, I know that what I am learning will help me to be the best leader I can be for both educators and students in my years to come. To showcase my learning, I now have a living, breathing resource to track my progress along the way - my ePortfolio!

The COVA-inspired ePortfolio project is one with many benefits and rewards. Not only does it collect one’s personalized learning, but it leads others to new content and knowledge in their own learning journey. It truly is a way to keep on sharing from one person to another, and how much easier can it get than just a click of a link! Ultimately, the ePortfolio can answer many common education questions: How to best motivate! How to best teach! How to best inspire! And of course, how to best lead!

As instructional leaders, it is imperative to continuously reflect on experiences and learn along the way. If a leader becomes stagnant, the success of the organization or school will falter. This ePortfolio resource is the perfect opportunity to unite the ever-evolving world with today’s educational practices and school systems. What better way than to lead with technology in such a technology-dependent society. By doing so, deeper and more relatable connections can be made, and learning can be shared world-wide.

In closing, I want to thank Lamar University and the Educational Technology Leadership department for providing graduate students with such an engaging project and learning experience. It reflected the COVA-design process precisely by giving graduate students choice, ownership, voice, and authenticity in creating their very own ePortfolio. The amazing aspect about this process is that even though EDLD5303 is about to come to a close, it is just the beginning of an influential learning process that the ePortfolio will showcase! Join me on my journey as I strive to research, review, and reflect areas of education that can transform learning for the better.
